To all of my fans, I wrestled with whether to keep this goodbye card from New York Giants owner Wellington Mara private or share it with the fans and friends. I made a decision to go “public” sharing it to display how much class Mr. Mara had in bidding farewell to this player. When I left the NY Giants I knew I still had a few good years that I could have played if I wanted to and the truth be known I did get offers from five teams but I declined the opportunity to play with another team including the Giants. I cherish this card from Mr. Mara and regardless of any honors I have received “post career” this card means so much to me and my family.
This is my 50th Anniversary of my relationship with the New York Football Giants and New York Giants fans. For me, it is appropriate to use this platform to drop items of my Giants life to fans, especially those fans who never knew who wore #53 for 13 season. LOL…
